Short version: your messages stay on your Mac and with each service. We keep only what we need to sell you a licence and run the Waggle Relay.

Who we are

What stays on your Mac
Your messages, emails, calendars, contacts and attachments are read from each service by the Waggle app on your Mac and are never sent to us. Passwords, keys and sign-ins are kept in your Mac's Keychain.
What we collect, and why
- Your licence: your email address, what you bought, Paddle's customer and order numbers, how many Macs it covers, and for each Mac you activate a random ID and the Mac's name (for example "Sam's MacBook Air", so you can tell your Macs apart in Settings → Licence). We never collect serial numbers. We use this to issue and check your licence. Lawful basis: contract.
- Your free trial: a random ID for your Mac and the date the trial started, so the trial can't be restarted. No name or email. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Settings sync and iMessage sharing: if you turn them on, the Waggle Relay passes data between your own Macs. It is end-to-end encrypted on your Mac first, so we cannot read it. For iMessage sharing, encrypted messages wait on the Relay for up to an hour until your other Mac collects them. Lawful basis: contract.
- Emails you send us: kept so we can help you. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- This website: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. We note which headline you saw when you click Download, to learn which one explains Waggle best.
Who else is involved
- Paddle sells Waggle on our behalf as the merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address under its own privacy notice; we never see your card.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the Waggle Relay.
- AI providers you choose: if you use AI replies or an AI bee, the conversation you ask about goes to the provider you picked, with your own key, under that provider's terms. Apple's on-device AI stays on your Mac.
- GIPHY: if you search for a GIF, your search words go to GIPHY to find matching GIFs.
- Google Workspace holds our email.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the UK's approved safeguards.
How long we keep it
Licence records for as long as your licence is in use, plus six years for tax and accounting. Trial records for 12 months. Encrypted sync data until you turn sync off or stop renewing the Relay. Emails for up to two years after our conversation ends.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
